Spoken Word Live! Auditions March 3 - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Auditions for the Spoken Word Live poetry slam will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2012, from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, located at 501 West 9th Street in Little Rock. All poets will be asked to recite a 2-3 minute original poem related to this year’s theme, "Our Collective Voices: Lyrics for Justice". The piece must be accompanied by a transcript of the poem, and judges will evaluate participants based on delivery, originality, and relevancy to the theme. To reserve a spot at the audition, call 501-374-1957. Finalists from the auditions will have a chance to compete for up to $500 during the Spoken Word Live event in April. If you are a poet, come out and let us hear what you have to say!

From Here to Timbuktu: A Journey Through West Africa Exhibit Opening Celebration-March 24th 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Visit us to explore our new exhibit, From Here to Timbuktu: A Journey Through West Africa. This exciting display immerses children and adults in an adventure of discovery as they learn about the rhythm of West African life.
Join us on Saturday, March 24, 2012, for the grand opening of this new exhibit. Opening day activities will include musical performances, crafts, games, and refreshments beginning at 11:00 a.m. Be one of the first to experience this exciting, interactive display.
The From Here to Timbuktu exhibit will be available through June 2012.
From Here to Timbuktu: A Journey Through West Africa is organized by EdVenture Children’s Museum and made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museums and Library Sciences.
