Mosaic Templars opens entries for ‘Creativity Arkansas’
The 2017 collection will depict ‘Hidden No More’
Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, a museum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, is accepting applications for the 2017 “Creativity Arkansas” collection. Submissions are being accepted Feb. 17, 2017, through March 27, 2017.
The “Creativity Arkansas” collection began in 2008 and celebrates the history of the state through vivid works in a variety of media. Consistent with the mission of MTCC, the collection preserves and documents the African American experience in Arkansas through visual arts. The 2017 theme is “Hidden No More.”
This call is open to all artists 18 years of age or older, whether professional or amateur, who are native to or currently reside in Arkansas and whose work depicts the African American experience in Arkansas. There is no submission fee. Artists are invited to submit two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art. All mediums are accepted.
The collection was acquired in part by a grant from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council, funded by the Arkansas Real Estate Transfer Tax.
