Governor’s office and MTCC postpone Black History Month program

LittleRock, AR (Feb. 10, 2014) — The Office of Governor Beebe and Mosaic TemplarsCultural Center, a museum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, postponedtheir 2014 Black History Month Celebration due to inclement weather.

The eventwas originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 and will be rescheduled inthe near future. Sericia Cole, director of MTCC said, “Governor Beebe’s firstpriority is the safety and well-being of Arkansans.”

TheGovernor’s Office and MTCC host the Black History Month program annually. Thisyear’s theme is “Believe in Arkansas: A Story of Progress.” For updates on thisevent, visit mosaictemplarscenter.com or call the Governor’s Office at 501.682.3612.

The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, amuseum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, is dedicated to telling thehistory of African Americans in Arkansas from 1870 to the present, especiallyin the areas of politics, business and the arts. Other agencies of theDepartment of Arkansas Heritage include Arkansas Arts Council, ArkansasHistoric Preservation, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, Delta CulturalCenter, Historic Arkansas Museum and Old State House Museum.
